Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) dengan kerjasama Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) telah menganjurkan ‘Virtual Conference on Local Authority in Urbanisation and Governance’ pada 28 Julai 2022. Objektif utama penganjuran Virtual Conference on Local Authority in Urbanisation and Governance adalah seperti berikut: a. Meningkatkan keberkesanan penyampaian perkhidmatan dan kesediaan masa hadapan sektor awam dalam bidang pembandaran dan tadbir urus; b. Berkongsi pengetahuan, amalan terbaik dan pengalaman berkenaan pembandaran dan tadbir urus; c. Mengadaptasi pendekatan yang bersesuaian dalam tadbir urus bandar bagi menangani keperluan dan situasi Negara Anggota ASEAN; dan d. Menyebarluaskan inisiatif Negara Anggota ASEAN dalam mengukuhkan tadbir urus bandar berdasarkan nasihat praktikal daripada pakar-pakar. Peserta yang menghadiri Virtual Conference on Local Authority in Urbanisation and Governance terdiri daripada 52 pegawai Kerajaan Negara Anggota ASEAN+3 yang terlibat secara langsung dalam dasar nasional mengenai pihak berkuasa tempatan dan ahli ACCSM+3 Focal Point serta tiga (3) orang delegasi dari Sekretariat ASEAN. Ucapan pembukaan telah disampaikan oleh YBhg. Dato’ Sri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam dan ucapan penutup disampaikan oleh YBhg. Datuk M Noor Azman Taib, Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan. Seramai 115 orang peserta tempatan turut menyertai program ini yang merangkumi wakil-wakil dari KPKT, Kementerian Wilayah Persekutuan (KWP), Pentadbiran Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri dan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan di seluruh Malaysia. The Public Service Department (JPA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), has organised a virtual conference on Local Authority in Urbanisation and Governance on 28 July 2022. The main objectives of organising this virtual conference are as follows: a. To improve the effectiveness of service delivery and the future readiness of the public sector in the fields of urbanisation and governance; b. Sharing knowledge, best practices, and experiences on urbanisation and governance; c. Adapt an appropriate approach towards urban governance in order to address the needs and the current situations of ASEAN Member States; and d. To disseminate the initiative of ASEAN Member States in strengthening urban governance based on practical advice from experts. The participants who attended the virtual conference on Local Authority in Urbanisation and Governance consist of 52 ASEAN+3 government officials who are involved directly in the formulation and implementation of national policies on local authorities and ACCSM+3 focal point members, as well as three (3) delegates from the ASEAN Secretariat. The opening speech was delivered by YBhg. Dato' Sri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah, Director-General of Public Service, while YBhg. Datuk M Noor Azman Taib, Secretary General of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government delivered the closing remark. A total of 115 local participants also participated in this program, which included representatives from KPKT, the Ministry of Federal Territories (KWP), the State Secretary's Administration, and local authorities throughout Malaysia.
