It is about capacity, competence, and character. The Rakyat Feels Our Competence or Lack of It The public can immediately tell: when an officer doesn’t understand the rules; when explanations are unclear; when work slows because the officer is unsure; when confidence is missing; and when the officer doesn’t know the latest circular. Competence is visible in every interaction. Strengthening human capital means strengthening public trust. A Simple Question to Reflect On Today “Am I better at my job today than I was last year?” If the answer is no, then change must begin now. If we stay the same, our service stays the same. Malaysia deserves better. Small Actions That Build Stronger Public Servants Choose one thing today: Learn a new skill; Update yourself with a recent circular; Ask your supervisor for feedback; Mentor a junior colleague; Watch a short training video; Practise a better communication approach; and Identify one personal weakness and work on it.
