Earlier today, during a meeting chaired by Dato’ Mohd Shaiful bin Ibrahim, Timbalan Ketua Pengarah Perkhidmatan Awam (Operasi), Dr. Yap was given a moment to speak. It was, after all, his last Friday in service. Next week, he will step into retirement after years of dedication as a public servant. His speech was delivered beautifully. Structured. Measured. Eloquent. The kind of Malay language that is rarely heard today, graceful, structured, and deeply meaningful. But beyond the words there was something else. A quiet weight in his voice.
