page 2 That tingling feeling in your hands or feet? Nope, not “bad wind.” That’s your body waving a little red flag for vitamin B12 . Or maybe you can’t stop thinking about food even after you’ve eaten. That’s not greed. That’s your body whispering, “I need protein, not another snack.” These aren’t coincidences. They’re your body’s way of talking to you but we often don’t listen. We listen to notifications, meetings, and other people. But when our body speaks, we hush it with “it’s just stress,” or “I’ll rest later.” Until “later” becomes too late. Sometimes, your body doesn’t want medicine or a miracle cure, it just wants attention. A glass of water. A slow breath. A stretch. A few minutes in the sun. That’s all it takes to say, “I’m listening.” We forget that our body works 24 hours a day, without leave . It carries every burden the mind creates. When emotions are heavy, it stores them in the chest. When stress piles up, it locks it in the jaw. When exhaustion hits, it sends signals and we call it “normal, just overworked.” But the body never lies. It doesn’t know how to fake being strong when it’s actually dehydrated, tense, or running low on nutrients. Think about it, this body is the most loyal employee you’ll ever have. It never takes MC, never asks for annual leave, never files a complaint. It’s been working since the day you were born, repairing, adjusting, and protecting you, even when you don’t return the favour. When it finally sends pain, fatigue, or tears that’s not weakness. That’s communication. So the next time your body gives you signs, don’t panic, and please, don’t call the bomoh. Hahaha. It’s not a curse. It’s chemistry. Our grandparents stayed healthy without modern supplements. They worked outdoors, ate real food, slept early, and lived simply. We, on the other hand, live fast. Screens at every meal, coffee instead of water (opps, guilty, that’s me), scrolling instead of sleeping. No wonder our bodies are confused. If your body could talk, maybe it would say: “I don’t need a vacation. I just need you to stop for a moment.” So ask yourself, “How’s my body today?” It sounds small, but that question can change everything. Drink before you’re thirsty. Rest before you’re drained. Step into the light before your mood darkens. Smile before the world feels too heavy. Health isn’t a reward after the job is done. It’s what allows you to keep doing it with focus, calm, and heart. Because when your body is well, your mind is clear, and your spirit feels light, your service becomes more than duty. It becomes meaning. So next time your eye twitches, don’t assume someone misses you. Maybe it’s your body missing you. Disclaimer: This article is intended for general awareness and educational purposes only.
