page 1 Inside Roblox andWhat We Forgot to Teach When I first read the news about a teenager who harmed his sibling after an incident in Roblox, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was more than a tragic, isolated act but it felt like a symptom. Out of curiosity, I registered and played Roblox for nearly 24 hours. Yes, 24 hours of building, trading, fighting that immersed in the rhythm which millions of children live in daily. At first glance, it seemed imaginative and harmless. But after hours inside that world, I felt something else, a quiet emptiness. A world rewarding constant motion but offering little guidance in meaning. Then I began to wonder. In schools, do our children know why they go there every morning? Does anyone remind them that learning isn’t just about exams and that education is about discovering who they want to become? When a student loses that sense of direction, learning becomes a routine, not a purpose, and the same applies to us, the adults. Are we creating a sense of belonging and purpose in our offices, or just meeting targets and completing forms? And then there’s home, the first classroom that shapes everything. How many parents, after a long day, scroll through their phones from 8 p.m. to midnight while asking, “Dah makan? How’s school?” Are those real conversations, or background noise between notifications? When children see that, they imitate us.
