page 3 Many of the articles that generated the strongest response did not begin with statistics or theories. They began with a simple observation, a question, a conversation or an everyday experience. From there, readers were invited to explore a broader idea. This reinforced an important lesson for me as a communicator. Good communication is not about telling people what to think. It is about helping them see something they may not have noticed before. Over the past few months, I have also come to appreciate the value of consistency. Not every article becomes a favourite. Not every topic generates discussion. Not every edition attracts the same level of attention. Yet showing up consistently matters. Trust is rarely built through one extraordinary message. It is built through the steady delivery of meaningful content over time. Every edition becomes another opportunity to learn, reflect and engage. Perhaps that is why reaching the 70th edition feels significant. Not because of the number itself. But because it represents 200 days of continuous conversations. Two hundred days of sharing ideas. Two hundred days of learning together. On a lighter note, the first edition of JPA Daily Buzz was published on 17 October 2025. Interestingly, my birthday also happens to be on the 17th. A coincidence, perhaps. But I must admit it makes this milestone feel a little more personal. Most importantly, these 200 days have reminded me that communication is ultimately about people. Technology matters. Platforms matter. Analytics matter. However, behind every click is a person. Behind every view is a reader. Behind every statistic is someone who chose to spend a few minutes learning something new. We often hear that people today have short attention spans. I am not entirely sure that is true. Perhaps people do not have an attention deficit. Perhaps they have an interest deficit. When a topic is meaningful, surprising, relevant or thought-provoking, people will always find time for it. The success of JPA Daily Buzz has strengthened my belief that curiosity remains one of the most powerful human qualities. Curiosity drives learning. Curiosity drives innovation. Curiosity drives improvement. Most importantly, curiosity keeps us growing regardless of our age, position or profession. When JPA Daily Buzz started on 17 October 2025, I thought I was publishing articles. Two hundred days later, I realised something else. I was not measuring readership. I was witnessing curiosity because behind 170,775 reads were thousands of people who chose, in the middle of their busy schedules, to spend a few minutes learning something new. Perhaps that is the most encouraging lesson of all. In an age of endless scrolling and shrinking attention spans, curiosity is still alive. Thank you for being part of the journey. Here's to the next edition, the next idea and the next conversation. Dr. Diyana Hassim Head of Corporate Communications Public Service Department
