From there, you build the full system: headline, subheadline, key messages, artwork, and the strategies behind it. Brand strategy, communications strategy and marketing strategy. You decide what can be earned through PR and networking, what needs education content and what (only if necessary) needs paid support. That’s when you can call yourself a communications strategist. If you’re still growing in some parts of the spectrum, that’s normal. Ask questions. Learn from those who have done it on the ground. Experience teaches the full range and range is what makes you sharp. In the end, total communication is not complicated. You just need the facts, the numbers, and the ability to make it human.
