Misleading news It refers to all news content that is sensational, bias, unfair judgment, slanted which can confuse the reader with a negative impression. It nearly impossible for the reader to understand the misleading content due to fallacy with the intention of manipulating perception. b. Clickbait Clickbait is a negative term for web content which designed by getting users to click a link to go to a specific webpage and gain ad revenue by tricking social media users into viewing and sharing them. This problem had gained attention in 2016 when Macedonian teenagers revealed to NBC News that they had made US$ 10,000 just for six months by producing fake news about U.S. politics. c. Political Propaganda It relates to the fake stories or misinformation campaign which aimed to influence the public perception in achieving own political agenda. In 2016, the Russian government enhanced the growing reach of its state-owned media such as Russian Today and Sputnik by employing a network of trolls, bots and thousands of fake Twitter and Facebook accounts that amplified negative stories on Hillary Clinton. d. Hoaxes Hoaxes relate to fake stories that are usually created as a joke, sarcasm or to make people look irrational for believing them. The latest incident which is the Las Vegas attack, a huge number of people went online just minutes after it happened to spread fake news especially pictures where some of those claimed to be the attacker and others claimed to show people who had been caught up in the attack.
