494 Varia Ranah: Sorotan Ilmiah Perkhidmatan Awam concept of sustainable development as it relates to strategy will enable local regulatory bodies to improve conformity and efficiency on the practice of sustainable development strategy. The conceivable research questions that lead this study are as follows: i. What does the term sustainable means in local government? ii. What does sustainable development strategy mean within the context of a local government? iii. What does the term sustainable development convey within the context of a local government? iv. How does it relate to human resource management? v. What are the potential outcomes of adopting a sustainable development strategy for human resource management? vi. What are the contextual factors that govern the implementation of a local government sustainability strategy on human resource management? This study focuses on the factors that influence the implementation of sustainability strategy for human resource management in local government organisations. The subject of the study resourced from online information including academic research, news, blogs and social media platform. Desktop research design is a sole approach for the study. As the context-bound of this study are limited to human resource management of local authorities in Malaysia.
