229 Varia Ranah: Sorotan Ilmiah Perkhidmatan Awam ANALYSIS Case Study 1: GST Implementation To modernise its taxation system and improve business efficiency, Malaysia replaced its Sales and Service Tax regimes with the Goods and Services Tax (GST) effective 1 April 2015. This new policy sparks a lot of debates among all Malaysians. Netizens express their voice thru social media as Facebook. Plenty of Facebook pages as shown on Figure 1 have been set up to oppose the new GST policy. While most netizen voice their dissatisfaction over the GST implementation as shown in Figure 2.
