Penerapan Konsep MADANI dalam Perkhidmatan Awam Abstract Malaysia MADANI was introduced as an effort to drive and restore Malaysia’s dignity and glory with a vision of a civilised and inclusive society based on six core values: Sustainability, Prosperity, Innovation, Respect, Trust and Compassion. Complexities of present issues and future uncertainties pose momentous challenges that demand every citizen be on-board with the government to bring Malaysia forward. Thus, shared trust and responsibilities between government and society must be strengthened based on transparency and cooperation. Hence, civic engagement must be accelerated to encourage citizens to play a role in empowering their own community towards building a civilised society. Civic engagement is instrumental to democracy since it is when the people take collective action to address issues of public concern, protect public values, and make change for the betterment of their community. To amplify the impact of civic engagement, the government needs to actively engage civil society leaders not only at the planning stage but also at the implementation phase of a public policy or decision. The civil service, as the catalyst of change, needs to elevate civic engagement to enable society to work and grow stronger together in moving towards a prosperous, dynamic, and inclusive future as aspired by the vision of Malaysia MADANI.
