In many cases, social injustice is perpetuated by outdated policies and procedures that have not kept up with the changing needs of society. A study by Abdul Manaf and Ahmad (2021) argues that innovation can help public servants identify and address disadvantaged communities' needs and develop solutions that promote equality and fairness. This finding was also supported by Razak, Kassim and Dahlan (2020) as they highlighted that innovative behaviour could promote social justice by enabling public servants to identify and address the needs of marginalized communities and develop solutions that promote equity and inclusion. Public servants who are innovative and creative are more likely to question these policies and procedures and come up with new solutions that promote social justice and equality. In conclusion, innovation and creativity are essential for promoting civic consciousness, unity, and social justice among public servants. By encouraging public servants to approach problems with an open mind and think creatively, we can create a public sector that is more responsive to the needs of its community, more collaborative, and more committed to promoting social justice and equality. B. Diversity and inclusion training Diversity and inclusion training can profoundly impact promoting civic consciousness, unity, and social justice among public servants (Brundidge & Chronister, 2017; Ghaffar, 2020; Kalev, Dobbin & Kelly, 2006; Nielsen & Kassam, 2017; Thomas, 2017). In today's globalized and multicultural society, public servants must have the skills to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. These skills are essential to promote civic consciousness, unity, and social justice and to ensure that public services are accessible and responsive to all members of society. Diversity and inclusion training can promote civic consciousness among public servants by helping them understand the diversity of the communities they serve. When public servants better understand the needs and perspectives of diverse groups, they can develop more effective strategies to engage with them. Training can increase awareness of diversity and inclusion issues and promote more inclusive behaviours among public servants, promoting civic consciousness and social justice (Alghamdi & Sagrillo, 2021; Schulz, 2022; Sohoni & Shen, 2021). This can lead to increased trust and cooperation between public servants and community members, which in turn can strengthen civic consciousness and promote social cohesion. Moreover, Chou, Hunt and Shepherd (2021) found that diversity training can increase employees' public service motivation and promote a sense of shared commitment to serving the public, which can contribute to promoting unity and social justice and, at the same time, commitment mediates the relationship between diversity training and public service motivation, suggesting that training can help build a stronger sense of commitment among employees. In addition, when public servants are trained to recognize and appreciate the value of diversity, they can work more collaboratively and effectively as a team (Benoit & Herring, 2022). This can help break down barriers between individuals and groups, foster a sense of belonging, and promote unity among public servants. Lastly, diversity and inclusion training can promote social justice among public servants by raising awareness of the systemic inequalities and biases that exist in society. When public servants are trained to recognize and address these issues, they can become advocates for social justice and agents of change within their organizations (DeLorme & Henson, 2022). In addition, by promoting diversity and inclusion, public servants can help ensure that public services are accessible and equitable for all members of society, regardless of their background or identity.
