145 VARIA RANAH 2023 Malaysia MADANI: Promote Civic Consciousness, Unity and Social Justice in Public Service Promoting civic consciousness, unity, and social justice among public servants in Malaysia requires a comprehensive approach that addresses the unique cultural and social context of the country. Here are some strategies and program examples that can be implemented to promote civic consciousness, unity, and social justice among public servants in Malaysia. A. Encourage innovation and creativity Innovation and creativity are essential components for promoting civic consciousness, unity, and social justice among public servants (Abdullah, Ahmad & Wahab, 2018; Ahmad, Mamat & Rahman, 2019; Bujang, Kueh & Lee, 2018; Mohd Nawi & Mohd Tahir, 2020; Wan Yusoff & Sulong, 2020). Civic consciousness refers to individuals' sense of responsibility and accountability towards their community and society. Unity is the state of being together in a shared purpose, while social justice is the fair distribution of resources and opportunities to all individuals. Firstly, innovation and creativity are essential tools for problem-solving. Public servants often face complex issues that require unique and creative solutions in the public sector. An innovative mindset encourages public servants to approach problems with an open mind, think critically, and develop solutions tailored to their community's needs (Abdul Manaf & Ahmad, 2021; Mohd Safien & Abdul Manaf, 2020). Furthermore, this approach helps create a sense of civic consciousness among public servants as they become more aware of their community's challenges and are committed to finding solutions that benefit everyone. Secondly, innovation and creativity promote collaboration and unity among public servants. When public servants are encouraged to think creatively and approach problems with an open mind, they are more likely to work together to find solutions that benefit everyone. This collaborative approach creates a sense of unity and shared purpose among public servants, which helps to foster a strong sense of community (Mohamad Fauzi & Zainal, 2021; Yap & Ramayah, 2020).
