126 Penerapan Konsep MADANI dalam Perkhidmatan Awam C. Malaysia MADANI Vision The vision of Malaysia Madani has some similarity with Forward Singapore. It has 6 core values namely: i. Sustainability (kemampanan) – similar to Steward Sustainable development in accordance global standards. This includes preservation of environment, reducing of non-renewable energies, addressing current needs without negatively impacting the resources needed for future generations; Cultivating sustainable best practices as norms; Reducing the impacts from (natural) disaster. ii. Prosperity (kesejahteraan) – similar to Empower, Equip, Build and Care Prosperous country through sustainable economic and social development; Empowering all Malaysians irrespective of race, religion and background; Realizing the potential of each Malaysian without negatively affecting others. iii. Innovation and Creativity (daya cipta) To encourage Malaysians to not only be users of digital technology but the ones who will shape its development. iv. Respect (hormat) – similar to Unite To mould the Malaysian society into one that is more fair, respectful, dedicated, equality and high integrity. v. Trust, compassion and confidence (keyakinan) – similar to Unite To strengthen unity among all Malaysians, cooperation and public trust between the people and government as well as society, individuals, families, communities and non-governmental organizations. vi. Caring (ihsan) - similar to Unite More than just being caring; To empower all Malaysians through sufficient basic needs, healthy and balance diet, affordable housing, healthcare and continuous support for the needy. These core values will be applied to the economy and financial sectors, legislation, institutions, education, culture, society, community building and urban and rural settings. D. Leadership Leadership is critically important to the success of any organizations at country, society or even family level, without which the aspiration of the people being led (the followers) at best would be suboptimally realized because of poor coordination, conflicting directives, competing persons (person with authority/ in power) to initiate and implement policies and so forth. Leadership in some ways is about being able to command effectively and making good decisions, but the complexity of today’s working environment requires much more of a leader to thrive.
