Penerapan Konsep MADANI dalam Perkhidmatan Awam Abtract Malaysia Madani is a new vision for the country introduced by Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim, as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia. He is an experienced politician and had an illustrious but turbulent career; He was formally Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance but was sacked from his positions and jailed several times, and eventually received royal pardon. Today he is back in the government in a greater role; he leads the country, but in a more complex social political economic landscape with unprecedented challenges and disruptions ahead. His vision, embodied in Malaysia Madani attempts to redeem the country’s glory and soar to greater heights, which requires whole of nation-approach, rather than driven (implemented) mainly by the government. This requires leadership performance from all hierarchical layers of government, society and industries. While there are many types of leadership which have shown to be successful, this paper intends to deliberate specific leadership ideas such as burning platform, scenario planning, tipping point leadership and organization culture as the ways moving forward that leaders can adapt swiftly and with ease. But due to the depth & breadth of each idea, this paper will be organized in series, beginning with burning platform and followed by scenario planning and so forth. In discussing burning platform, the author highlights the issues in the human resource of government and provides some ways forward in details because it is pertinent to his current organization. There are other “burning” issues such as low wage structure, middle income “trap” and so forth, which the author would like to discuss separately in future papers.
