The research adopts a quantitative approach using surveys with a simple random sampling method, involving 481 respondents across various grades and positions. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale by Schutte et al., 1997 were used to measure emotional intelligence across four dimensions: self-awareness, social skills, emotion management, and empathy. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 29.0, applying both descriptive and inferential analysis to examine the relationships between emotional intelligence and mental health indicators. The findings indicate a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Specifically, low emotion management scores correlate with higher stress, anxiety, and depression levels. Furthermore, empathy was found to influence depression levels, while emotional management had the most significant impact on stress and anxiety. The study suggests that enhancing emotional intelligence, particularly emotion management, can effectively reduce mental health issues and improve overall well-being among public servants. Given the significant findings, the study recommends further qualitative research to provide deeper insights and suggests that targeted interventions focusing on emotional intelligence could improve mental health outcomes for civil servants. Such programs could help develop coping strategies and resilience, fostering a healthier work environment and higher productivity.
