Insentif Waris Penjawat Awam BERTUAHNYA kepada mereka yang bergelar penjawat awam. Kerajaan menyediakan insentif ex-gratia kematian sehingga RM150,000! Barangkali ramai lagi yang tak tahu, Ex-Gratia Kematian adalah pemberian kerajaan kepada tanggungan penjawat awam yang meninggal dunia dalam perkhidmatan, dengan tempoh perkhidmatan kurang daripada 20 tahun atau 240 bulan. Tujuannya adalah bagi membantu meringankan beban tanggungan atau waris penjawat awam yang meninggal dunia dalam tempoh tidak lebih 240 bulan perkhidmatan. Ia diberikan kepada balu, duda, anak, ibu atau bapa yang layak. Bagaimanapun, Ex-Gratia Kematian ini tidak diberikan kepada kes-kes kematian penjawat awamyang disahkan akibat daripada membunuh diri. Pelaksanaan Ex-Gratia ini berkuatkuasa pada 1 Januari 2020 berdasarkan Pekeliling Perkhidmatan Bilangan 11 Tahun 2019. Ini bermakna, kematian penjawat awam yang berlaku pada 1 Januari 2020 dan selepasnya akan layak untuk diberikan Ex-Gratia Kematian. 18 Feb 2020 Ex-Gratia Kematian: Insentif Kepada Waris Penjawat Awam New death benefit for civil servants SEREMBAN: The next of kin of civil servants who die while in service will get ex-gratia payment of RM150,000 if the deceased had been working less than five years under a scheme introduced by the government. Familymembers of a public sector employee who dies after having served between five and 10 years will get RM100,000, while the beneficiaries of those who had put in between 10 and 15 years would be given RM75,000. Public Service director-general Datuk Mohd Khairul Adib Rahman (pic) said the new regulations took effect on Jan 1,2020. The next of kin of a civil servant who dies after having served between 15 years and 20 years would be given RM50,000 but the family members of an employee who passes on after having served more than 20 years would not be paid anything. “The government has decided to give this ex-gratia payment to the next of kin of those eligible in addition to other benefits they are already entitled to under the pension and EPF schemes. “This additional benefit is given based on the current scene, some family members of civil servants who die while in service get low benefits depending on the retirement scheme chosen by the employee, ” Mohd Khairul said in a directive.There are some 1.6 million civil servants in the country. Civil servants hired on a permanent or temporary basis in federal and state governments, statutory bodies and local councils are entitled to this benefit. Mohd Khairul said the definition of next of kin would include the employee’s parents, spouse and children aged below 21. “If the deceased was not married, then the entire amount would be paid to his or her parents. “Also, if his or her parents were already dead, then the money will go to the spouse and children, ” he said. He said the next of kin of a civil servant would not be entitled to any ex-gratia if the individual was found to have committed suicide. In the event of a dispute on the quantum of payment, the Public Service director-general will have the final say on the recipient(s) and the amount to be paid. “The director-general’s decision is final, ” said Mohd Khairul.
