Majlis Tindakan Ekonomi (EAC) akan memberi tumpuan kepada beberapa teras utama termasuk reformasi pentadbiran awam dalam rancangan pemulihan ekonomi jangka panjang berikutan wabak COVID-19 yang melanda negara kini. Menteri di Jabatan Perdana Menteri (Ekonomi), Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed berkata, kerajaan menerusi EAC telah mengadakan beberapa siri bengkel dalam usaha memulihkan ekonomi negara. “Adalah diharapkan agar perkara yang dibincangkan ini disenaraikan dalam setiap perancangan kerajaan meliputi Bajet 2021, Pelan Pemulihan Ekonomi Jangka Sederhana dan Panjang serta Rancangan Malaysia Ke-12 (RMK- 12),” katanya ketika berucap dalam Siri Bengkel EAC: Kerajaan dan Institusi Awam pada Khamis. Dalam pada itu, Mustapa berkata, usaha yang dilaksanakan EAC juga adalah untuk mencari peluang dan langkah baharu yang boleh diperkenalkan serta dipraktikkan untuk mengembalikan kedudukan ekonomi pada tahap yang stabil. “Perkhidmatan awam merupakan sektor penting dalam kerajaan dan tujuan bengkel ini untuk melihat bagaimana pentadbiran awam mampu bertahan dalam menempuh cabaran masa depan khususnya pasca COVID-19,” ujarnya lagi.
