page 1 Lunar Eclipse Today 21th Edition/ 2026 3rd March 2026 The Buzz Crew On the 3rd of March, today the moon will dim. Slowly, it will slip into shadow. It will turn reddish, and for a while, it will not shine the way we are used to. A total lunar eclipse. Some of us will prepare cameras. Some will check astronomical charts. Some may not even notice. But perhaps we should pause because when the sky changes, it is always worth looking up. A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves directly between the Sun and the Moon. The Earth blocks sunlight from reaching the Moon, and its shadow falls across the lunar surface. When the Moon turns red, it is not magic. It is physics. Sunlight bends as it passes through Earth’s atmosphere. The shorter blue wavelengths scatter away, leaving red light to illuminate the Moon. This is why it is sometimes called a “blood moon.” It is predictable. Calculable. Precise. Scientists can tell us exactly when it begins and when it ends. There is no superstition in it and yet even with all that explanation, it still feels powerful. Science explains how but awe is a human response. Across history, eclipses have stirred emotion. Ancient civilisations feared them. Some believed mythical creatures swallowed the moon. Others saw them as omens. Today, we understand orbital mechanics. But we still pause. We still gather. We still look upward because an eclipse reminds us of something both humbling and beautiful. We are not the centre of the universe. We are part of a system. The Earth moves. The Moon darkens. The shadow passes and life continues. In Islam, when a lunar eclipse occurs, Muslims are encouraged to perform Solat Sunat Gerhana , a voluntary prayer. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ clarified that the sun and moon are signs of Allah’s greatness. They are not linked to the birth or death of any human being. They are reminders of divine order. According to current projections, the eclipse on 3 March 2026 (today) is expected to: • Begin at 7:04 PM • Reach its peak at 7:33 PM • End its full phase around 8:02 PM • Conclude entirely (including partial phase) at approximately 9:17 PM Behind every story, there is a team that works with heart.
